The corresponding fixture last season produced a goalless stalemate but there were six goals when the sides met at the City of Manchester Stadium, with the Sky Blues winning 4-2.

City fans will also have fond memories of the 6-2 thrashing they dished out to Bolton five years ago.

Shaun Wright-Phillips scored twice that day and the winger has been in fine form since his return to the club after a frustrating spell at Chelsea.

An ex-soldier (Liam Neeson) traveling through Europe embarks on a frantic quest to rescue his daughter (Maggie Grace) after the young girl is abducted by slave traders in District B13 director Pierre Morel’s contemporary thriller Taken. Robert Mark Kamen joins the screenwriting team which also includes Morel and longtime collaborator Luc Besson, who also produces.

The two most successful English teams of the previous four seasons lock horns again early in the current campaign, and as usual there are intriguing sub-plots. The last time they met, Chelsea were dramatically beaten in a penalty shoot-out in Moscow at the end of a thrilling Champions League final. The European crown looked to be heading for West London when Chelsea skipper John Terry stepped up to take his kick. Had he scored he would have lifted club football’s most glamorous trophy; but he slipped, his effort hit the outside of a post and Manchester United went on to claim their third European Cup.

British sceners from group RiVER released a first episode of new TV show Merlin 2008, which aired last night. This serie is based around the legends of the mythical wizard Merlin and his relationship with Prince Arthur. Produced by independent production company Shine Limited for BBC One, the programme is designed to run in the same Saturday evening family drama slot as series such as Doctor Who and Robin Hood. Classic 350 MB release in PDTV quality.

Liverpool have lost one of their last 16 games in all competitions - a 2-3 reverse at Stamford Bridge at the hands of Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final second leg.
